    Join Nick, Sally, and the Cat in the Hat as they learn about bridges and what makes them work!

    In this story segment of The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That!, Nick and Sally are trying to figure out how to build a drawbridge. The Cat in the Hat takes them to the bridge-filled land of Spansylvania—where they meet a dragon who chases after them! To escape, Nick and Sally need to find a way to cross a gap using the materials around them. They discover in their adventure that some materials are better suited for bridges than others, but that all good bridges have one thing in common: they have to be both long enough and strong enough!

    Order up! In this series of five episodes from The Ruff Ruffman Show, Ruff and his twin brother Scruff compete to be the best caterers at a party! As Ruff tries his best to make his culinary creations come to life, he runs into a few problems along the way. He is excited to discover that by investigating solids and liquids and exploring heating and cooling, he can use science to become a better cook. But will that be enough to make Ruff king of the cook-off?

With his new service, called “Ask Ruff First” or “ARF”, Ruff Ruffman helps kids explore different kinds of structures, and how what they’re made of, as well as their shape and weight, affects their strength and stability when they encounter a force. Whether it’s building a tower that withstands the strength of wind, a chair made out of newspaper, an entertaining (and stable) obstacle course, or a topple-proof birdbath, kids will develop problem-solving skills while having fun!

    In this series of episodes from The Ruff Ruffman Show, learn about wearable science and material properties alongside Ruff Ruffman. Materials have specific properties that can be observed and described, and different properties are suited for different purposes. Ruff Ruffman encounters a variety of problems: trying to figure out what materials to use to create a leash strong enough to hold a rhino, to fix Blossom’s things, to make a costume for the rhino, and to make a raincoat that keeps him dry. With the help of the kids, Ruff discovers how materials science can help solve problems that arise when you're pet-sitting a rhino...
