Programs

PBS KIDS programs help teach science and literacy-informational text skills through high-quality, educational resources aimed at students ages 2-8. They are based off popular series such as The Ruff Ruffman Show, The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That! and Ready Jet Go!, and include videos, games, apps, and offline activities.

  • Teacher's Guide: Structures | The Ruff Ruffman Show

Learn about structures alongside Ruff Ruffman in this Teacher's Guide from The Ruff Ruffman Show. There are a lot of different kinds of structures, and what they’re made of, as well as their shape and weight, affects their strength and stability when they encounter a force. Students can use the videos, games, and activities from The Ruff Ruffman Show to learn about the properties of materials, force and motion, and stability as Ruff designs, tests, builds (and breaks!) different structures.

Check out the Support Materials below for direct links to all the resources referenced in this Teacher's Guide, in English and Spanish. This resource is part of The Ruff Ruffman Show Science Collection.

    Grades: K-2
  • Teacher's Guide: Sports Science | The Ruff Ruffman Show

Learn about sports science and force and motion alongside Ruff Ruffman in this Teacher's Guide from The Ruff Ruffman Show. Pushes and pulls cause objects to move, and a bigger push or pull makes things speed up or slow down more quickly. Students can use the videos, games, and activities from The Ruff Ruffman Show to discover how force and motion can help rescue Ruff's plushie!
